2027: APC releases elections timetable, pegs presidential ticket at N100 million, governorship N50 million

The APC plans to hold its presidential primaries on May 28 and 29, 2026, as it adopts direct primaries across the 36 states and the FCT.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has released its schedule of activities for the 2027 general elections and pegged its presidential ticket at N100 million.

The ruling party also pegged its governorship tickets across the 36 states at N50 million, Senate at N20 million, House of Representatives at N10 million, and Houses of Assembly tickets at N5 million.

The details were revealed in a document titled “Schedule of Activities and Timetable for the 2027 General Elections,” which was signed by APC’s national organising secretary, Sulaiman Muhammad Arugungu, and released on Saturday, April 11, 2026. 

The party’s schedule of activities was arranged to fit into the elections timetable set by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The APC noted that its special convention for presidential primaries would hold from Thursday, 28 to Friday 29, May 2026, as the ruling party adopts direct primaries across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory. 

Notice of election to state chapters is scheduled for April 20, 2026, while sales of forms at the APC national secretariat in Abuja will commence on Saturday, April 25, and end on Saturday, May 2, 2026, with the last day for the submission of forms slated for Monday, May 4, 2026, according to the party.

The APC noted that screening of presidential aspirants is scheduled for Saturday, May 23, 2026, while screening of governorship, Senatorial, and House of Representatives aspirants will hold from Saturday, May 9 to Sunday May 10, 2026 in Abuja, with the screening of states Houses of Assembly aspirants slated for the same date, to be held at the various states capitals. 

It added that the publication of screening results for presidential aspirants is slated for Sunday, May 24, while screening results for governorship, Senatorial, House of Representatives, and state Houses of Assembly aspirants are scheduled for Wednesday, May 13, 2026.

The party also stated that the screening of appeals for presidential aspirants is slated for Monday, May 25, 2026, and the screening of appeals for governorship, Senatorial, House of Representatives, and state Houses of Assembly aspirants is scheduled to be held on Thursday, May 14, 2026.

Primary elections for state Houses of Assembly are slated for Saturday, May 16, 2026; governorship primaries on Monday, May 18; House of Representatives primaries on Wednesday, May 20; and Senatorial primaries on Friday, May 22, 2026, according to the party.

The APC also stated that election appeals for state Houses of Assembly primaries are scheduled for Sunday, May 24, while appeals for governorship, Senatorial, and House of Representatives primaries are slated for Monday, May 25.
