Tinubu knows Buhari allowed him to win presidential election: Garba Shehu

Bola Tinubu is grateful to President Muhammadu Buhari for allowing him to win the February 25, 2023, presidential election, says the outgoing president’s media aide Garba Shehu.
“When he (Tinubu) took his certificate from INEC, the first thing he did was that he flew to Daura and showed it to the president,” stated Mr Shehu in an interview with NTA on Wednesday.
“The incoming president Bola Tinubu never gets tired of saying that the president allowed him to win. It is very significant. He allowed him to win in a free and fair process,” Mr Buhari’s media aide explained.
The election is, however, being contested in court by former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar (PDP candidate) and ex-Governor Peter Obi (Labour party), alleging fraud and violation of the electoral laws.
Mr Buhari’s aide claimed that the current regime and Mr Tinubu’s incoming administration would be “the same government” run by the All Progressives Congress.
“What to expect between the incoming and the outgoing as of today, it’s even a more perfect relationship,” said Mr Shehu. “It is going to be the same government, different administrations. It’s APC.”
