Kano governor approves law establishing Gaya Polytechnic

Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, on Friday signed the bill establishing Gaya Polytechnic at the Government House, Kano.
This is contained in a statement issued by his spokesperson Sunusi Dawakin-Tofa in Kano on Friday.
The governor, flanked by his deputy, praised the swift legislative process and said the polytechnic would provide practical skills and technical knowledge needed for economic growth.
He reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to reviving and expanding education at all levels.
According to Mr Yusuf, once operational, the institution is expected to create jobs, spur innovation and boost the local economy in Gaya and surrounding areas.
He added the move was in line with the state’s agenda of providing accessible and affordable education.
The Speaker, Jibril Ismail Falgore, Deputy Speaker, Muhammad Butubutu and other senior officials attended the signing ceremony at Government House.
