Civil Defence sensitises Kwara pupils on rape, sex education
The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has sensitised Kwara pupils on sex education and how to shun all forms of immoral acts that could affect their future.
The sensitisation was on rape, sex education and juvenile delinquency for primary pupils and secondary students at Gwanara, Baruten LGA of Kwara on Friday.
The state NSCDC Commandant, Muhammed Ibrahim, enjoined the pupils to shun rape, sexual abuse, smoking and keeping bad company.
The commandant, represented by the Divisional Officer of Gwanara, Babawale Afolabi, advised the pupils to desist from social media except for their academic purposes.
He urged them not to allow social activities to have a bad influence on them and also to be conscious of the friends they keep.
The guest speaker, Halimat Mohammed, asked female pupils not to attract rapists through their dressing, while males should avoid indecent behaviours.
The females were taught various ways of defending themselves from being raped and from falling victims of other immoral acts.
The programme, held in Gwanara town, was attended by pupils from both primary and secondary schools in Gwanara Emirate.
