Driver dies, children injured in Australia’s school bus crash

A male driver of a school bus died on Wednesday, with several children injured, after the vehicle hit a tree in the Australian state of Victoria.
Police said in a statement that emergency services are currently working on the site of the fatal bus crash in Kilmore, a town located about 60 km north of the state capital Melbourne.
Just after 3:30 p.m. local time, the school bus was believed to have left Wandong Road and struck a tree.
The 65-year-old male driver was declared dead at the scene.
Among the approximately 30 children aboard, some suffered minor injuries, while one had serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
“The exact cause of the crash is being investigated and roads in the area will be closed for some time,’’ said the Victoria Police.
