Ahead of Saturday’s presidential election, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has dispatched the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS), and other sensitive election materials to all the 18 local government areas of Ondo.

The election materials were dispatched to the various local councils in the presence of the security agencies and political party representatives in Akure, Ondo’s capital city.

Peoples Gazette learned that the materials were moved from the headquarters of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) in the Alagbaka area of Akure.

Oyetola Oyelami, the acting Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Ondo, who received the election materials, said that INEC was fully prepared for Saturday’s election.

Mr Oyelami noted that vehicles conveying the materials to the various local government areas of the state have been checked and would be duly monitored.

“We have taken delivery of all the sensitive materials. The party agents and security operatives are also on the ground to monitor the processes.

“We have enough fuel, and we have enough vehicles to take the materials to all the local governments. The BVAS would also be deployed. So, we are good to go,” he told journalists.

Adesanya Olaoluwa, Chairman of Inter-Party Advisory Council Nigeria (IPAC) in Ondo, who was also at the distribution venue to monitor the exercise, said that the political parties are satisfied with INEC over its preparedness for the election.

Mr Olaoluwa disclosed that the political party representatives at the various local government areas would also monitor the sensitive materials when it gets to the various destinations.

“We are 100 percent satisfied, and we commend INEC for what they have done. We have seen signs of seriousness in them.

“And we too are ready to follow them and play the game according to the rules,” he said.
