Governor Fintiri to spend N492 million on streetlights in three Adamawa LGs
Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has approved the spending of N492 million on streetlights in three local government areas of Adamawa.
Umar Pela, the commissioner for information and strategy, disclosed this in an interview on Wednesday in Yola.
According to him, the approval followed resolutions of the State Executive Council (SEC) to fast-track implementation of the Urban Renewal Programme initiated by Governor Ahmadu Fintiri’s administration.
The commissioner disclosed that the funds would be used for installing integrated solar street lights at Atiku Abubakar Way in Jimeta, Yola South and Mubi township roads in Mubi LGAs.
“About N492 million would be spent on the projects expected to be completed within three months,” he said.
Mr Pela also said N329 million had been provided for constructing an additional one-kilometre Jada–Mbulo road.
He said the contract was awarded to Triacta Nigeria Limited as a variation on the ongoing construction of the 4.8km Jada township road.
“The decision to increase the length of the project was informed by the recent visit of Governor Fintiri to Jada,” he said.
