Jos automobile crash kills three
Three persons and scores of cows died in a crash in Jos.
FRSC spokesman Peter Longsan confirmed the crash to Peoples Gazette.
According to Mr Longsan, the incident occurred at the Gada Biu roundabout on Tuesday at about 2:00 a.m.
“Yes, the crash actually happened in the night, probably between 2:00 a.m. or thereabout. It was a trailer conveying animals and human beings,” he said.
Blaming speeding for the possible reason for the ghastly crash, Mr Longsan confirmed the number of casualties, stating, “Possibly, the vehicle was overspeeding. It was about to climb the bridge while negotiating.
He added, “We recorded three dead and three others injured. The injured were taken to the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH).”
Mr Longsan mentioned that the Muslim community in Jos claimed the remains of the deceased, who were likely buried according to Muslim rights.
“Ordinarily, we should have taken the bodies to the mortuary, but they had to be buried according to Muslim rights,” he said.
The Gada Biu area has witnessed several deadly trailer crashes.
