Kwankwaso warned against undermining security, public order in Kano

The Kano Peace Coalition Group has warned NNPP chieftain Rabiu Kwankwaso against using social media to undermine security and public order.
In a statement by the group’s coordinator, Datti Tukur, on Thursday, Mr Kwankwaso was alleged to be manipulating youth groups to create chaos in Kano, citing instances of cyberbullying and character assassination against Governor Abba Yusuf and others.
The group named individuals involved, including Abba Ibrahim Hussain, Abdulmajid Danbilki-Kwamanda, Samir Hanga, and Abdullahi Warkal, some of whom had faced security scrutiny.
The statement said that youths affiliated with the Kwankwasiyya Movement had been using social media to attack prominent political figures, including Mr Yusuf and Abdullahi Ganduje, who disagree with their leader’s political views.
The group cited an instance where the Kwankwasiyya handlers degraded Mr Yusuf’s personality by depicting him in female attire, wearing makeup. It identified Abba Hussain, aka Aiha, allegedly linked to Mr Kwankwaso, as one of the people involved.
The statement urged Amnesty International to verify claims fairly and professionally before issuing statements, to maintain its credibility.
It restated that investigating allegations before publicising them supports efforts to combat cyberbullying and disrespect for authority. It appealed to Amnesty International to verify claims before issuing statements, citing concerns over cyberbullying and disrespect for constituted authorities in Kano.
