Like Ødegaard, Alex Sørloth receives fish bowl for winning Real Sociedad’s Player of the Month
Norwegian striker Alexander Sørloth is currently trending on the internet following a picture that showed him being awarded a fish after winning the Real Sociedad’s Player of the Month for January.
The 27-year-old forward was pictured holding a bowl containing fish and some vegetables. He was also named the La Liga Player of the Month for January.
Sørloth, who has been on loan from RB Leipzig since last year, scored four goals across all competitions in January for Real Sociedad to help ‘The Royal’ moved third in the La Liga standings with six points adrift of second-placed Real Madrid.
The Norwegian international, who had an unsuccessful stint in the Premier League with Crystal Palace, scoring just one goal in 20 appearances, also helped Sociedad reach the quarterfinals of the Copa del Rey before they were stopped by Barcelona.
A similar case happened in 2019, when fellow Norwegian Martin Ødegaard was also presented with a fish after winning Real Sociedad’s coveted monthly honour during the now Arsenal’s midfielder loan spell from Real Madrid.
