Nasarawa State Deputy Governor Emmanuel Akabe has urged the Eggon nation and other groups in the state to continue living in unity and peace, irrespective of their affiliations, for development to thrive.

Mr Akabe made the call on Saturday at the inauguration of new officials of the Eggon Youth Association (EYA) in Nassarawa Eggon Local Government Area.

“Eggon nation is blessed,” said Mt Akabe. “Let us continue to embrace unity and peace, forget our differences, and come together as one people. If there is no peace among the youths and others, there will be no development.”

The deputy governor, who chaired the occasion, urged the people to continue supporting Governor Abdullahi Sule’s administration to ensure its success.

He also commiserated with the Eggon nation over the death of Solomon Ewuga, a former deputy governor of the state, and prayed for the quick recovery of Godiya Akwashiki.

Similarly, the speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Danladi Jatau, commended the Aren Eggon, Ahmed Ubangari, for uniting youths and promoting peace.

“We must live in unity and peace for the overall development of the state. Unity should remain our focus,” Mr Jatau said.

Iliya Aliyu, chairman of Nassarawa Eggon LGA, called on Eggon youths to embrace unity and tolerance for peace to reign.

In his response, the new EYA president, Friday Haruna, thanked the Eggon youths for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to work diligently to unite and develop the association.
