Mr Anosike said the inauguration underscores NiMet’s commitment to complement decades of physics-based forecasting with emerging AI-driven approaches.

Mr Anosike stated, “Early warnings must not end with forecasts alone; they must inspire understanding and drive decisive action.’’
He added that NiMet would also provide cost and expenses for use of consumables.
He also said climate change had disrupted food supply chains, particularly in vulnerable regions with limited adaptive capacity.
Mr Anosike said the overriding objectives of the 2024 NiMet management retreat were to strengthen collaborative relationships among the agency’s staff.
