Mr Shu’aibu urged the beneficiaries to take ownership of the facilities by ensuring proper maintenance and preventing vandalism.
Mr Shuaibu added that adherence to established procedures and accurate documentation were essential to effective operations.
Mr Wase stressed the need for soldiers to maintain a strong maintenance culture to preserve the newly constructed facility.
The tournament is scheduled to run from February 2 to 9, after which all clubs are expected to depart Abuja.
Mr Shaibu said the Nigerian Army was consolidating resources and leveraging technology to tackle insecurity in the state.
He said the project was part of the collective effort to improve the morale and welfare of officers and soldiers.
He added that access to decent housing was a critical component of troop welfare.
The COAS said the Abakaliki depot will soon become operational and will further support the army’s strategic plan to surge troop strength.
Mr Akiolu lauded the COAS for his leadership and commitment to peace.
The army chief says the aim is to sustain morale and enhance operational efficiency.
