Mr Eriator’s case added to the growing list of Nigeria’s ex-police officers who had been denied permanent stay in Canada over the Nigerian police’s crime-related activities.
Reacting to the ruling, Mr Kennedy said, “The Democrats are showing contempt for democracy. They aren’t confident they can win at the ballot box.
The case was seen as a test of Australia’s ability to have social media platforms comply with the country’s laws.
The court granted the motion for leave and adjourned the substantive suit against INEC until November 8, 2023, for hearing.
But the Court said violence against the government “cannot be used to legitimise acts of subversion by force.”
