He said the five accused Dowen College students were exonerated and released by Lagos state 14 days into the 21-day remand order given by the court.
HEDA excoriated Mr Odumosu for attempting to bypass the stipulated rules guiding the entry and exit points of the estate…to attend a social function.
“The argument that the outgoing CP of Lagos state, AIG Odumosu, can enter any place without being questioned is legally unfounded,” Mr Effiong tweeted.
The police commissioner’s security details also arrested a female resident, Adebola Fatiregun, for leading a protest against Mr Odumosu.
He was also said to have stationed policemen at the entrance, to ensure the enforcement of his orders.
The commissioner of police in Lagos, Hakeem Odumosu, says the suspects were released because they had not been indicted of murder.
Dozens of protesters have stormed Dowen College on Wednesday morning, demanding justice for 12-year-old Sylvester Oromoni.
“We hereby request Your Lordship to conduct an inquest into the circumstances surrounding this tragic death at Dowen College, Lekki, Lagos State.”
The police said the crushing exercise was to clear the insinuations that police officers were selling impounded motorcycles.
