Rivers attorney general and commissioner for justice, Zacheaus Adangor, has tendered his resignation.
The group specifically commended the judiciary for the recent judgments in various election petitions in Plateau.
A total of 36,712 cases are pending in various courts in Rivers, the chief judge, Justice Simeon Amadi, said on Thursday in Port Harcourt.

“We urge the State Government and security agencies to investigate the matter and ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice,” Mr Igboji said.
“If an offender within Ibadan is being remanded in the Oyo town correctional facility, there may be delay in justice.”
The former president gave the commendation in a statement celebrating Nigeria’s 63rd Independence Anniversary in Abuja.
According to the president, this is consistent with the true spirit of one family, mutual respect, and sustainable development.
Mr Buba commended the executive arm of government for coming up with the two important bills.
