The National Judicial Council (NJC) has recommended the compulsory retirement of Justice S.O. Falola of Osun State High Court.
They were tried and convicted of kidnapping Abubakar Ahmad in 2022, collecting N1 million as ransom before releasing him. Mr Ahmad was held hostage for 20 days.
The presiding judge, Adenike Akinpelu, sentenced the defendant to six months in prison, with an option of N200,000 fine.
The group also wants the coming Baptist convention and conference put on hold as a mark of respect for the deceased.
A group had challenged the “illegal appointment” of the TICs to run the state’s 16 LGAs.
The fraudster said he used part of the money to conduct sacrifices for the victim.
The fraudsters are to collectively forfeit iPhones, a vehicle, and 1,500 dollars to the federal government.
