Governor Mai Mala Buni has appointed Mohammed Goje as the acting secretary to the state government.
The committee is chaired by the former Katsina State governor, Aminu Masari.
Mr Mohammed said the decision was reached at the end of a security meeting held by the governor and the state’s security chiefs.
Governor Mai Mala Buni has approved ₦7.9 billion for the payment of outstanding gratuities to the state and local governments’ retirees.
According to him, those employed include 140 ‘Buni Scholars’ who recently graduated in various medical science fields in India.
Mamman Mohammed, spokesman for Governor Mai Mala Buni, confirmed this to journalists on Wednesday in Damaturu.
He said 205 employed workers were nurses and midwives who graduated from the state-owned Shehu Sule College of Nursing and Midwifery, Damaturu.
Governor Mai Mala Buni presented the donation to Governor Babagana Umara Zulum of Borno during a sympathy visit on Saturday in Maiduguri.
Mr Buni said that the partnership would create jobs for teeming youths and enhance security and infrastructure in the state.
The Yobe government has distributed 27,569 goats and inputs to 1,590 farmers under its Agricultural Empowerment Programme.
