Interior minister Rauf Aregbesola says Nigeria now has a competent electronic border security architecture to secure the country effectively.
The interior minister said that there was no “insurgency stronghold” anymore in the country.
The interior minister said over 70 per cent of the 75,635 inmates at present were awaiting trial.
The APC faction said they would approach the Appeal Committee to be set up by the National Secretariat to seek redress.
Mr Oyetola was declared winner after polling a total of 222,169 votes to defeat other aspirants in the race.
He vowed to “explore all peaceful and legal means for addressing the matter in order to obtain justice.”
The resolution followed a motion of urgent public importance by Ndudi Elumelu, the minority leader of the House on the floor of the House on Wednesday.
“Thirteen empty shells of G-3, assault and AK-37 rifle were recovered along the road after the minister’s departure.”
The minister said the constitution gave prisoners the right to vote during elections.
The stakeholders argued for a parole system to mitigate overcrowding in the prisons.
