Mr Ojeifo said, “The only result we received from the National Reference Laboratory in Abuja last week was negative for cholera.’’

There had been 815 suspected cases, 318 confirmed cases and seven deaths from monkeypox in the country in 2022.
The comments came as the health bureau reported that a monkeypox case had been detected in someone described as an “international arrival” in Chongqing.
The total number of confirmed cases of monkeypox in the country had also risen to 241.
