The CP said the command arrested and prosecuted about 2,176 suspects between September 2024 and January 2025.
The airline said it was processing refunds for affected flights over the next one month.
“The evacuees included 78 males, 55 females, 13 children, and one infant.’’
The court also gave him the option of a N200,000 fine with community service.
The service promised to make findings of the probe public.
“This is a safeguard to ensure that democracy thrives in Nigeria,” he said.
“Their arrest followed weeks of intelligence gathering about the activities of the criminal network, ” he said.
Mr Nwagu said that the defendant was arrested during the outward clearance of passengers on a Turkish airline flight to Italy.
Mr Babafemi said the drugs weighing 63 kilogrammes were concealed in a used Toyota Corolla car imported from Canada.
“We evacuated almost 4,000 stranded Nigerians from Libya in 2022, and we hope to surpass that number this year.”
