NSCDC has deployed 1700 tactical personnel in Ondo to ensure crime-free Christmas and New Year celebrations.
Officials urged residents to be vigilant and report any suspicious activities promptly.
The police boss ordered the supervisory officers to ensure adequate security before, during, and after the forthcoming Christmas and New Year celebrations.
The NSCDC also assured residents of the safety of their lives and properties and urged them to always be law-abiding.
The federal government has declared December 26 and 27, 2022 as public holidays to mark Christmas and Boxing Day.
“The rate of food waste during festivities is very alarming. For instance, much of the food prepared during the Yuletide will never be eaten,” he said.
