AFN is at a loss to explain how reigning Nigerian 100m champion, Favour Ofili, was omitted from the 100m event at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Tony Nezianya, the NOC spokesperson, who will serve as the press attaché to the team, announced this in a statement on Tuesday.
He said that the athletes have benefited from high calibre coaching and technical support ahead of the games.
He said the games would be held from March 8 to 23 in Accra, Kumasi and Cape Coast.
He said efforts were made to normalise the 41-year-old Ms Okpala, but each time she was taken to a rehabilitation centre, she escaped.
“The boys have shown exceptional skills, unwavering determination, and teamwork.”
It is expected that the committee will liaise with the various sports federations in preparation for the 2024 Olympics.
The Africa qualifiers will be held from Sept. 16 and Sept. 17 in Zimbabwe and it would be Nigeria’s first Olympics in rugby if the team qualified.
“Now, should the federation be blamed? I don’t think so,” said Gora.
They say he should instead focus on completing the stadium with facilities for all association games.
