The subscribers, who spoke in separate interviews on Tuesday in Kano, said the situation caused them untold hardship.
“Some of the SIM registration centres just use any photo to register consumers that is why we see discrepancies,” he said.
The angry subscribers reportedly besieged the MTN office in protest over their SIM card blockage over the weekend.
The NCC disclosed this in a statement on Monday amid renewed complaints of SIM card blockage by telcos.
“New applications for the aforementioned licences will not be accepted.”
“We are pleased to announce that services have now been restored to approximately 90 per cent.”
NIMC and NCC have partnered to enhance processes related to the NIN-SIM linkage.
Ms Odusote said they were going to use the National Identity Numbers (NIN) and Subscribers Identity Modules (SIM) databases to track them down.
“At the expiration of 10 days from the date of this notice, subscribers of Globacom will no longer be able to make calls to MTN but will be able to receive calls.”
