Residents claimed their rights were being violated daily by unidentified officials of the Nigeria Customs Service.
“Bazoum was legitimately elected by the sovereign people of Niger,” Mr Barma said.
“If we do not receive adequate funding, the consequences will be devastating and not just in Niger,” Ms Van der Velden said. “In the Sahel, such crises do not recognise borders.”
Mr Obi described the recent political developments in Niger as “a matter of dire and urgent national interest and security to Nigeria.”
