He said that the revitalised sector was now contributing significantly to economic growth.
Mr Tinubu assured the global maritime community of Nigeria’s readiness to promote safer oceans.
Mr Oyetola commended dockworkers for their dedication, describing their role as central to Nigeria’s maritime and blue economy growth.
He noted Nigeria has maintained zero piracy incidents for over three years.
Mr Oyetola called on maritime stakeholders to safeguard the opportunities of the ocean for the benefit of future generations.
He said NASS would continue to enact progressive legislation and conduct robust oversight necessary to fully harness opportunities in the maritime sector.
The refinery stated that through various strategic interventions, it has helped stabilise the naira.
“Nigeria’s candidature is more than ambition. It is a solemn pledge of partnership with the international community,” he stated.
He said the move forms part of broader efforts to boost public revenue and accelerate economic growth.
The committee, led by Khadija Abba-Ibrahim, approved the proposal at a budget defence session with the NIMASA management in Abuja.
