The G5 Governors, Nyesom Wike of Rivers, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu, Seyi Makinde of Oyo State and Samuel Ortom of Benue were among other dignitaries present at the event.
According to Mr Abubakar, Nigerians are looking up to PDP to return to power, “hence the jittery by the ruling party ahead of 2023 general election.”
The aspirant said the contest has been “obscenely monetised”.
Mr Mimiko told reporters that he would carry along his political structures across the state before taking final decision on his return to the PDP.
“It is not a matter of populist legislation or saying tomorrow this or that,” Mr El-Rufai asserted. “It is not a solution.”
The group advised the former vice president to quit the turf for a younger candidate.
