The deceased was a student of agricultural economics in the Faculty of Agriculture.
Other university rappers are expected to join the fray in the coming days to defend their schools as the contest for supremacy continues to buzz on social media.
“We demand an open hearing and a public apology from Dr Ariyo to the generality of Great Ife students.”
He noted that the group was aware that some of the students were “freelancers and remote workers who sell their skills in exchange for cash rewards online.”
However, he noted that the anti-graft agency had initiated the process of releasing the arrested student whose hostels were raided in the early hours of today.
EFCC claimed the students made useful statements, listing “exotic cars, 190 mobile phones and 40 laptops” among items seized from them.
“We have declared that this protest will continue every day until our demands are met.”
“We are the ones keeping others waiting. We told them to exercise patience until after the ongoing dialogue with the management,” he said.
“The decision was taken by the Senate of the university at its emergency meeting on Tuesday, September 12.”
The Peoples Democratic Party incumbent garnered 563,756 votes to beat Teslim Folarin, his All Progressives Congress challenger, who polled 256,685.
