Mr Afunanya said that the security agencies have made concerted and frantic efforts to restore calm to the affected areas.
“The protests are designed with sinister objectives to coincide with the Democracy Day celebration,” SSS said in a statement on Tuesday.
“Stakeholders are enjoined to note that politics should not be used to destroy the country or any part of it,” said SSS.
The statement said the directorate was also to deepen democratic governance, transparency, and accountability in its service delivery.
“To show sincerity of purpose at the time of the visits, the service expressed readiness to move them to its world class medical facility in Abuja.”
The palliatives were provided by the federal government to states to ameliorate the hardship caused by the removal of petrol subsidy.
The service said this in a statement issued by its spokesperson, Peter Afunanya, on Wednesday.
The State Security Service (SSS) charged Godwin Emefiele to court following Abuja High Court order.
SSS stated that reports reaching it indicated plans of attack on worship and recreational facilities before and during the festivities.
The SSS’ allegation is not unusual for the agency that has a longstanding reputation for repressive measures.
