A former personal assistant to the late Osinachi alleged that on different occasions her husband, Peter Nwachukwu, referred to her as useless, lazy and indolent during rehearsals.
Their father is accused of being responsible for the death of the late gospel singer popularly known for her song ‘Ekwueme’.
She said the singer had once left her matrimonial home over ill-treatment by Mr Nwachukwu, and that the husband came to beg her to return after a year and four months.
“This was caused by humiliating her and making utterances like ‘you are smelling,’ ‘you are mad,’ to her in the presence of her music crew members,” said the police.
Mr Nwachuckwu was remanded pending the hearing and determination of the alleged homicide charge filed against him.
The group stated that so many men were also victims of domestic violence by their partners.
One friend said the singer told her of how the husband would tie her up and ask the children to “beat her up with a cane.”
