President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the redesignation of the State House Clinic to a medical centre.
Mr Gambari stated this when he inaugurated the 54-seater State House Multi-Purpose Training Centre.
Out of the N20.8 billion budgeted for the project in 2022, the Buhari regime has paid N8.5 billion.
The Presidency says the State House Clinic requires revamping and adequate funding because its infrastructure has become obsolete.
Mrs Buhari had criticised Nigeria’s poor health care system before the outbreak of COVID-19, lambasting the handlers of State House Clinic.
Mr Afaka died of prolonged illness at the State House Clinic while Mr Buhari is on medical vacation in London.
“The more Nigerians are vaccinated the more we are safe.”
