”They can be supervised by the president to ensure the money gets to the grassroots. If the federal government does that, there will be fewer complaints from the people,” said Mr Eradiri.
He urged all stakeholders to work with the governor to move the state forward.
Mr Eradiri said he decided to explore the court options in the interest of the suffering people of Bayelsa.
“We have a long way to go with this country and money politics, I thought I had found a solution but I was wrong, I did not come into this race to buy votes,” Mr Eradiri said.
“As we predicted, these exco members went to the Governor and collected N100 million to endorse him and disown our candidate, Udengs Eradiri, in a press conference.”
The wife of the Labour Party governorship candidate, Teslima Eradiri, has commenced a campaign to mobilise women for her husband, Udengs Eradiri.
“This is outrageous and shows a lack of prudency with public funds by the Diri-led administration,” Mr Eradiri said.
Mr Eradiri wondered how the road project then-Governor Seriake Dickson almost completed could still gulp N30 billion.
The British High Commission in Nigeria has pledged to support a free, fair and credible Bayelsa governorship election scheduled for November 11.
“We want to tell Governor Diri that the people of Odioma and, indeed, the entire people of Bayelsa are not foolish.”
