Ukrainian forces said on Tuesday that they struck a major oil terminal and a naval base in Russia’s southern port city of Novorossiysk.
Ukrainian forces have carried out overnight attacks on military and energy-related facilities in several Russian regions.
The settlements are located on the outskirts of the regional capital, Kherson, on the northern bank of the Dnipro River.
The Russian flag has been hoisted over Guevo.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has threatened to retaliate with cluster bombs if Ukraine uses U.S.-supplied munitions against his forces.
The whereabouts of the Russian leader remained unclear, but reports said his plane was briefly seen flying towards St Petersburg.
“These are large areas that we have lost,” Mr Prigozhin said. “The losses in the Russian ranks were also great, and colossal problems are being concealed.”
Canada said this was part of its commitment to increase military aid for Ukraine in its fight against Russia.
