The envoy said China’s cooperation model with Africa was based on sovereignty and had no political conditions.
Mr Yu disclosed this at the first Annual China–Nigeria Government Exchange Programme Alumni Reunion Gala on Friday in Abuja.
The Chinese delegation of artistes from Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, arrived in Nigeria to promote cultural exchange between the two countries.
The Chinese ambassador to Nigeria, Yu Dunhai, has announced his country’s plans to build Africa’s first local insulin production facility in Nigeria.
Highlighting the relevance of China-Nigeria ties, Mr Yu reaffirmed both countries as major developing nations and leading voices in the Global South.
The envoy also linked the festival to China’s Global Civilisation Initiative, which advocates mutual learning and respect for cultural diversity.
He said the initiative is part of efforts to implement the strategic consensus reached by the Presidents of China and Nigeria.
Mr Yu stated that the trade marks a new chapter in the collaboration between the two nations in relation to the tea industry.
He acknowledged the long-standing relations between Nigeria and China.
Mr Yu reiterated China’s commitment to expanding market access, particularly for least-developed countries in Africa.
