2027: INEC publishes final list of 122 National Assembly candidates in Ondo

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Ondo State has released the final list of 122 National Assembly candidates and their political parties for the 2027 General Elections.
Ogunseye Olayinka, INEC state head, Voter Education and Publicity (VEP) Department, made this known in a statement on behalf of the INEC state Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Dr Mutiu Agboke, on Sunday in Akure.
Mr Olayinka said the names of 18 presidential candidates and their political parties were also published.
He also said the publication was in strict compliance with the commissionās approved timetable and schedule of activities for the 2027 general election.
The head of department called on the general public, political parties, candidates and all stakeholders to visit INEC offices across the state to view the list.
ā31 names with the political parties have been published for the senatorial districts, with 91 names for House of Representatives as the final list of candidates for the 2027 National Assembly Elections in Ondo State.
āAs scheduled, Sept. 12 was fixed as the last day for the publication of the final list of candidates for the Presidential and National Assembly Elections.
āIn fulfilment of this timeline, the commission has on this day, forwarded and published the final list of candidates for these elections, pursuant to Section 32(1) of the Electoral Act, 2026.
āThis milestone marks a significant step in the commissionās preparations towards the 2027 Presidential and National Assembly Elections scheduled to hold in January 2027.
āIt also reaffirms INECās unwavering commitment to transparency, credibility and strict adherence to the electoral timetable in the build-up to the elections,ā he said.
Mr Olayinka encouraged political parties, candidates and members of the public to visit all local government area offices of INEC and the state office to view the final list of candidates.
āThe general public is hereby assured that INEC, Ondo State, under the leadership of the REC, Dr. Mutiu Agboke, remains committed to conducting elections that are free, fair, transparent, credible and inclusive.
āNothing shall determine the winner of any election other than the votes lawfully cast by the people and duly counted in accordance with the law,ā he said.
