45-year-old kolanut buyer raped to death on Ondo farm

“At the scene of the incident, the deceased was left with only pants.’’

A kolanut buyer, Kudirat Abolarinwa, has been raped to death in the Ondo West Local Government Area of Ondo State.

Mrs Abolarinwa, 45, was found dead at Lekere, Ayeyemi area in Ondo on Monday.  

Peoples Gazette gathered that the incident happened when she left the house for a farm to transact business with a yet-to-be-identified customer.

A source in the neighbourhood, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said that the family was saddened by the incident. 

He also disclosed that the deceased allegedly followed the unidentified man to the farm to buy kolanut and was attacked in the process.  

The source said, “She left the house and said she was going to the farm to sell some of her goods to a customer. Sadly, we were scared when she could not return early. It was later we got the news that she had been killed and her body was found on a bush path. We saw her lifeless body and noticed the signs of violent marks on her body as she was naked with marks of cutlass.’’ 

The case was immediately reported to the Enu-Owa Police Division in Ondo by the deceased’s husband.

The state police spokesperson, Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, confirmed the incident in a statement in Akure, the state capital. 

Mrs Odunlami-Onisanya noted that the husband of the deceased reported the murder case to the police, saying no arrest had been made.  

“One Tajudeen Bolarinwa of Ago road, Onipetesi village reported at about 1630 hrs that his wife Mrs Kudirat Bolarinwa aged 45 yrs, who goes from one farm to the other to buy kolanuts was murdered in the bush by an unknown person. At the scene of the incident, the deceased was left with only pants and the side of her face, lower arm and head was severely matched.” 

She, however, noted that an investigation had commenced into the case.
