Kwibuka T20: Nigeria beat Botswana to extend winning streak

Nigeria made it three wins in three matches after a six-wicket victory over Botswana at the ongoing KwibukaT20 Cricket tournament in Kigali, Rwanda.
Opening bowler Rachael Samson and Rukayat Abdulrazaq ensured that they conceded no run in the first two overs, claiming a wicket in the process against Botswana.
A partnership between Florence Samanyika and Shameelah Mosweu seemed to steady the ship with 29 runs score by the sixth over but Samanyika was caught out by Agatha Obulor.
Obulor appeared to have landed wrongly in that attempt and needed the medics attention. She was replaced by Kehinde Abdulquadri.
Mosweu’s 24 runs in 21 balls faced and Tuelo Shadrack 26 in 29 were the best batting performances for the Botswana side and their efforts helped the ICC ranked 42nd team finish their innings at 88 runs for the loss of five wickets.
Opening batter Omonye Asika 33(50) kept it safe for Nigeria and an eventual pairing with captain Blessing Etim 19(21) in the ninth over meant the team would need only 15.2 overs to finish the game, scoring 89 for three.
The result has placed Nigerians top of the table. Nigeria, who had earlier defeated Brazil and Germany, would face two-time winner Uganda at the IPRC cricket oval on Sunday.
