The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Kaduna on Monday inaugurated a five-member committee to organise the maiden edition of its Inter-Chapel Games.

The committee is headed by Jacob Zango, chairman of the Kaduna Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), with Abdulwaheed Adubi, SWAN secretary, as the committee’s secretary.

Other members of the committee are Bosan Yakusak, Mayen Etim and Ahmed Usman.

While inaugurating the committee, the NUJ council chair Asmau Halilu urged the members to be diligent in the assignment.

She said a lot was expected of the committee, and assured it of the council’s full support.

”We expect a lot from you, in view of what we see as the capabilities of the members. Be assured that we will give you all the necessary support to deliver on this,” Ms Halilu said.

Mr Zango, while responding on behalf of the committee and its members, assured the council leadership of the members’ commitment and ability to deliver quality games.

”I can assure you that we will give you the best, and a Games to remember for long,” he said.

The event is expected to hold from June 25 to July 2, with competition in ayo, Scrabble, Ludo, draughts, table tennis and table soccer.

Winners in the various events and in the different categories will be rewarded with prizes.
