APC Primaries: Gov Yahaya inaugurates reconciliation committee

Governor Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe has inaugurated the All Progressives Congress (APC) reconciliation committee in the state.
The committee is chaired by Manassah Jatau, the state’s deputy governor.
Inaugurating the 21-member committee in Gombe, Mr Yahaya charged the committee to resolve all differences among members towards ensuring a more united “family” as a party.
He said the committee was constituted to ensure that all members were carried along because in APC, “we are our brothers’ keepers.”
“As humans, whatever happens amongst us there must be some areas where we need to sort out and make sure that there is clear understanding between all our followers, contestants and the leadership of the party,” he said.
The governor, the leader of the party in the state, said with the calibre of committee members, he was optimistic that they would “dig through whatever problems we have and proffer solutions.”
Mr Yahaya listed the terms of reference to include identifying aggrieved members of the APC following the outcome of the last primary elections.
He said this was to ensure that there were no loopholes for the opposition parties in the state to capitalise on ahead of the 2023 general election.
Also, Nitte Amangal, Gombe APC chairman, said the committee had two weeks to accomplish its task.
Speaking on behalf of the committee, Mr Jatau appreciated Yahaya’s confidence reposed in them and assured the party leadership of their commitment to meeting their mandate.
