Kaduna investigating burning of church pavilion: Official

Mr. Aruwan also said governor Nasir El-Rufai condemned the arson.

Kaduna governor says it has commenced investigations into the razing down of an ECWA church pavilion erected for an upcoming event in Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of the state.

“Investigations into the incident are in progress,” Samuel Aruwan, state commissioner for internal security and home affairs told reporters on Friday in Kaduna.

Mr. Aruwan also said governor Nasir El-Rufai condemned the arson.

He said that a pavilion erected by the leadership of the ECWA Church ahead of its conference was set ablaze by unknown persons at a location near the Palace of the Agwatyap.

Mr. Aruwan said the governor who frowned at the incident, has directed security agencies to carry out diligent investigation towards identifying and punishing the culprits.
