On Tuesday, meta’s founder, Mark Zuckerberg, said its messaging app, WhatsApp, would introduce new privacy features to protect its users.

“New privacy features coming to WhatsApp: exit group chats without notifying everyone, control who can see when you’re online, and prevent screenshots on view once messages,” Mr Zuckerberg announced in a statement on his Facebook page on Tuesday.

He further said the messaging app would continue “building new ways to protect your messages and keep them as private and secure as face-to-face conversations.”

This feature will follow many other recent feature updates on the messaging app used by over two billion people spread across 180 countries in the world.

WhatsApp had increased the number of users allowed to join a Group Chat from 256 to 512.
