FRSC warns against traffic violations on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

Mr Umar said motorists and road users could prevent accidents if they obeyed traffic rules.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun has cautioned motorists plying the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway against violating traffic rules.

In an interview on Sunday in Ota, the sector commander, Ahmed Umar, expressed worry that some motorists plying the expressway violated the one-way restriction.

“We urge motorists to desist from driving against the traffic. They should avoid route violation and strictly obey traffic rules,” he said.

He explained, “route violation by motorists not only causes traffic jams, it makes our work more difficult.”

Mr Umar said motorists and road users could prevent accidents if they obeyed traffic rules.

“The ongoing construction work by Julius Berger is actually affecting traffic flow on the expressway. We don’t have to compound it.

“Motorists need to be patient. The road has been demarcated, and the lanes narrowed.

“We need patience and cooperation with FRSC personnel for effective traffic flow,” he said.
