Controversial Nigerian singer, Afeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, has spoken out on the recent allegations by Mohbad that members of the Marlian gang brutalised him for demanding to change his manager.

Mohbad, whose real name is Ilerioluwa Oladimeji, accused Naira Marley’s crew members of battery following his request to change his manager.

“Just because I want to change my manager which is their brother, see what they did to me at Marlian House,” he ranted in a tweet.

Naira Marley shared his side of the story on Instagram live where he spoke to fans and whoever cared to listen to him.

According to Naira Marley, he didn’t plan to respond to the allegations, but since Mohbad shared a video, he decided to clear the air.

“If Mohbad didn’t do a video, I wouldn’t even bother explaining cos it’s nothing big, it’s a family issue. But obviously, he wasn’t in the right state of mind bro,” he said in his defence.

He also went further to state vehemently that he wouldn’t touch Mohbad or even let anyone harm the artist, who according to him was already acting under the influence of the substance he had allegedly taken.

Naira Marley acknowledged Mohbad’s request to change his manager in a message he sent to their group on Whatsapp.

“He said he wanted to change his manager or something like that. He and his manager are having an argument or something like that. His manager is not my brother. I don’t know what he’s saying. He’s probably high,” he further explained.

Blaming Mohbad’s recent outburst on drugs, Naira Marley said that he (Mohbad) would explain himself and apologise when he’s sober.

Mohbad, however, in an earlier post before Naira Marley’s response already said he knew that they would blame his outburst on substance abuse.

“I’m not high oo cost that’s what dey always say just to die down everything,” he said.

Naira Marley said Mohbad already changed his manager, a move which he was okay with, but the singer whom he acknowledged wasn’t a violent person still brought his friends to fight. He further reiterated his claim that Mohbad was high.

“He came to the studio to fight Tunde. When he sat next to me he was just smelling of the maddest shit bro. I told him he’s high of something,” he added and switched to his Yoruba dialect to say more.

In his further defence, the singer showed bite marks on one of his team members and claimed that those were inflicted on him by Mohbad.

“I’m not gonna let anyone touch Mohbad, but he’s just biting everybody,” Naira Marley said, visibly worried.
