The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has announced that the Super Eagles will take on Los Ticos of Costa Rica in an international friendly match next month.

The announcement followed the series of international friendly matches the Super Eagles have been involved in despite missing out on the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Recently, Super Eagles have played against some top nations teams including Mexico, Ecuador and fellow African nation Algeria during the last international break.

On the other hand, the match will serve as a World Cup preparatory game for Costa Rica, who are drawn in Group E alongside two winners of the tournament Spain and Germany and the Asian country of Japan.

The match will take place on November 10, 2022, in Costa Rica’s capital city of San Jose.

Seven days after the game, Super Eagles will face Portugal in another friendly match at the José Alvalade Stadium in Lisbon, Portugal.

It has not been all smooth for the Eagles in international friendly matches lately. They have lost in all three of them lately against Mexico, Ecuador and Algeria.

Nigeria also dropped one place from 31st to 32nd in the October world ranking by global football governing body FIFA.
