A man on Friday told Jikwoyi Customary Court, Abuja, that his wife had made life unbearable for him by accusing him of being involved in money rituals and cultism.

The husband, John Danjuma, a businessman, who resides in Garki, Abuja, is seeking divorce from his wife, Joy, due to the allegations.

He said, “When my fortunes started improving from 2020, my wife became very curious and accused me of being involved in money rituals and cultism.

“Since January 2022 till date, my wife has behaved in such a way that no reasonable human being will expect me to continue to live under the same roof with her.

“She has become so disrespectful to me and my mother that the house is no longer conducive for me.”

The petitioner told the court that a fire incident, which occurred and claimed the lives of his two children worsened the matter.

“It was unfortunate that there was a fire incident in the house and two of my children died in it. The whole thing heightened the cruelty of my wife to me,

“She accused me of using the children for money rituals,” he said.

The respondent, however, denied the allegations.

The Judge, Doocivir Yawe, after listening to the couple’s submissions, adjourned the matter until October 13 for hearing.
