Franck Ribéry announces retirement from football

Bayern Munich legend Franck Ribéry has announced his retirement from professional football at the age of 39 after 22 years of an illustrious career.
Ribéry made the announcement on his official Twitter on Friday afternoon in which he posted that “The ball stops. The feelings inside me do not”.
He also proceeded to thank people who made his career a successful one.
The France international winger began his senior football career with French club US Boulogne in 2000 and went on to play for big clubs in Europe including Galatasaray and Marseille.
He joined Bayern Munich in 2007, where he became a household name before leaving the Allianz Arena in 2019, scoring 118 goals in 404 appearances.
The one-time World Cup finalist was famous for his deadly combination with football legend Arjen Robben, who last played for Dutch side Groningen in 2021, during their time in Germany.
The former Fiorentina forward won nine Bundesliga titles, the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, FIFA Clubs World Cup, multiple DFB Pokal and DFL Super Cup titles during his time with Bavarians.
He also won the DFL Ligapokal and DFL Ligapokal titles.
Ribéry made 81 appearances for the France national team netting 16 times and was part of the squad that reached the final of the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany.
