NPC to hire 26,000 ad hoc staff for 2023 census in Adamawa

The National Population Commission (NPC) says it will engage no fewer than 26,000 ad hoc staff in Adamawa to conduct the 2023 housing and population census.
Clifford Zira, the NPC federal commissioner in charge of Anambra, disclosed this in an interview in Yola on Monday.
Mr Zira said the staff would be adequately trained on processes and procedures for a transparent, credible and acceptable exercise.
He solicited for understanding and cooperation of all relevant stakeholders to ensure the conduct of reliable housing and population headcounts, saying NPC will not relent in making the exercise a huge success.
The NPC official noted that the commission recently held a two-day localities forum workshop to finalise and present the list of localities identified for the assignment to the grassroots.
“I urged the stakeholders to ensure that localities were not misrepresented from what has been given to them for the exercise,” Mr Zira said.
The commission is warming towards conducting the housing and population census in April 2023 to determine Nigeria’s population and housing data.
