Actor Olaiya Igwe is trending following a video of him naked at a Lagos beach praying for Bola Tinubu, candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the 2023 presidential election.

The filmmaker posted the now-viral controversial video of him completely naked from behind on his official Instagram page with the caption: “One leader who will fight hard to keep the promise of Nigeria for the next generation. And that’s why we must stand up and make Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu Jagaban the next president of Nigeria.”

An excerpt from the video showing unclad Olaiya, a vocal supporter of Mr Tinubu read: “The most high God, the God of yesterday and forever, I, Ebun Lookman Oloyede Olaiya Igwe is calling on you on behalf of Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his victory in the presidential race.”

The video has generated several reactions from Nigerians on social media, with many questioning the state of his mental health.

Famous content creator Monalisa Stephen, who once posted a cryptic note about taking her own life, emphasised on the seriousness of mental health issues, saying, “We don’t take mental health issues seriously in this country and it’s bad. Very bad.”

Popular On Air Personality, Dotun, said that the actor’s action was “despicable and disgusting” and expressed concern about the level of maturity.

“The video of Olaiya Igwe going butt naked is despicable and disgusting. It’s okay to support whoever you choose but even to the person you are doing that for, they will be appalled by that level of filth.. your maturity should have a place in history. This is lower low,” he tweeted.
