Two men docked in Lagos over alleged N270,000 iPhone theft

Emmanuel Ejike and Sanusi Sallau, alleged to have conspired and stolen an iPhone 11 and N300,000, on Tuesday, appeared before an Ojo Magistrates’ Court in Lagos.
The defendants, who were arraigned on a three-count charge of conspiracy stealing and receiving stolen property, however, pleaded not guilty to the offences.
The prosecutor, Simon Uche, told the court that the defendants committed the offences on November 15, at Plateau plaza located at the Trade Fair Complex, Ojo.
He alleged that the first defendant stole a N270,000 iPhone 11 cell phone and N300,000, belonging to the complainant, Kenneth Anaebone.
Mr Uche said the second defendant allegedly received the iPhone, knowing it was stolen.
The offences, the prosecutor said, contravened the provisions of sections 287, 328 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.
The Magistrate, L.J.K Layemi, granted the defendants each bail in the sum of N 200,000 with two sureties each in like sum and adjourned the case until December 21 for trial.
