Four Kogi Poly students abducted on Christmas Eve in Ondo

No fewer than four students of the Kogi State Polytechnic transiting through Ondo State have been kidnapped by suspected gunmen.
The students, said to be returning home for the Yuletide season, were waylaid on the Akunnu-Ajowa road in the Akoko area of Ondo.
The Akunnu-Ajowa road is notorious for criminal activities by armed bandits and kidnapping.
Details of the incident are, however, still sketchy as of the time of this report.
Funmilayo Omisanya, the Ondo police spokesperson, could not be immediately reached for comments but the Assistant Commissioner of Police in Ondo, Muri Agboola, confirmed the kidnap case.
Mr Agboola said detectives from the police command have swung into action with the view of rescuing the students.
“The incident occurred in the Ago-Jinadu area of Akoko but our men are already in the push coming to the area.
“The operation is an ongoing effort with other security agents and I can assure you that they will be rescued,” the ACP said.
